Empowering Families Through Cyber Safety

Empowering Families Through Cyber Safety
On April 16, 2026, TAQ had the privilege of hosting a ThinkUKnow Cyber Safety session. We were honored to have two dedicated volunteer officers from the Queensland Police Service facilitate this incredibly informative event.
The session provided our community with invaluable insights into the digital landscape, offering practical strategies and essential resources to help navigate the complexities of online safety.

Key Takeaways
• Awareness: Identifying potential online risks and red flags.
• Protection: Effective tools and settings to secure devices.
• Communication: How to foster open dialogue with children about their digital lives.

TAQ extends its deepest gratitude to the Queensland Police volunteers for sharing their expertise and time. Their commitment to educating our parents is vital in our collective mission to keep our children safe in an ever-evolving digital world.
“Keeping our children safe online is a shared responsibility. We are proud to support our families with the knowledge they need to thrive safely.”

Thank you to everyone who attended for your ongoing support and commitment to our children’s wellbeing.

Emu Gully Adventure Education Camp in Helidon – April 2026

From 7th to 10th April, 2026, TAQ and other communities youths, took part in an unforgettable experience at the Emu Gully Adventure Education Camp in Helidon.
Over four action packed days, participants were challenged to step outside their comfort zones and work together to overcome various obstacles.
The Emu Gully program is famous for its “character through adventure” approach.

Our attendees engaged in:
• Teamwork Challenges: Navigating mud flats and tunnels that required trust, communication, and collective problem solving.
• Leadership Development: Taking on roles that tested decision making skills under pressure.
• Resilience Building: Pushing through physical and mental barriers in a supportive environment.
• History Based Scenarios: Learning about courage and mateship through activities inspired by ANZAC history.

Beyond the physical activities, the camp provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone to bond.
Whether it was cheering each other on through the mud or reflecting on the day’s lessons around the campfire, the sense of community was stronger than ever.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Emu Gully for their expert facilitation and to all the participants who brought such high energy and a “never give up” attitude to the week.

None of this would be possible without the support of our sponsors.
Please see the sponsors tab on taq.org.au.
